DHCP (DYNAMIC HOST CONFIGURATION PROTOCOL)

INSTALLATION
DHCP allows you to automatically assign
  • IP addresses
  • Subnet masks
  • Default Gateway
  • DNS
  • WINS 






CONFIGURING 
DHCP SCOPE
 A range of  IP addresses that are available to be leased or assigned to DHCP clients by the DHCP  service.







  • Address configuration parameters that a DHCP service assigns to clients.

  •  Most DHCP options are predefined, based on optional parameters defined in Request for Comments (RFC) 1542, although extended options can be added by vendors or users. 



 ACTIVATE 
After DHCP Configuration ,ACTIVATE the particular scope then only the scope will get effect.


 Address pool indicates the range of address.














RESERVATION IP
Reservation :

  •  Assure that a specified hardware device on the subnet can always use the same IP address. 
}

  • Use reservation to create a permanent address lease assignment by the DHCP server.
